ABOUT THE WEBINAR:
Sexual abuse and molestation (SAM) cases and allegations present serious threats to the safe and healing environment that patients expect in healthcare settings. The actual prevalence of sexual abuse by healthcare professionals is difficult to determine, as research indicates that only 5-10% of patients who experience sexual misconduct report the assault. The increasing number of SAM claims, combined with the rising costs associated with nuclear verdicts in these cases, not only cause harm to patients and staff, but also expose healthcare organizations to significant legal risks, financial losses, reputational damage, and higher insurance premiums. Organizations can protect themselves, patients, staff, and providers through implementation of evidence-based risk management strategies.
